The Ramadan Reminder Plate

Food waste is a major concern during Ramadan, where the tradition of large, buffet-style meals, often leads to excessive portions.

By solving this problems, IKEA partners with hotels and restaurants to launch a smaller, interactive plates that encourage taking just enough food, helping to reduce food waste caused by overestimating portions.

After Ramadan, IKEA launches a new set of plates with crescent moon (represents the guidance of God on the path through life) and Quranic verses, serving as daily reminders against food waste.
